As a very important matching part of
rotary kiln, burner plays a vital role in the combustion effect of rotary kiln. The aim to adjust burner is to change combustion speed and flame shape. There is a very close relations between combustion speed and flame shape. After years’ deep research, operators should adjust rotary kiln according to following real situation.
1. Adjust rotary kiln’s burner according to the color of flame and the temperature of burning zone.
Color of flame: when ignite, control the color of flame at deep red or light yellow. when kiln coating fall, control the color of flame at light yellow and white; during normal running process, control the color of flame at white or bright white. The color of flame can reflect the temperature of burning zone. If the temperature of burning zone is too low, increase certain amount of internal wind. If the temperature of burning zone is too high, decrease a certain amount of internal wind.
2. Adjust the rotary kiln’s burner according to kiln coating
The thickness of normal kiln coat is 200 to 300 mm and with smooth surface. The length of major kiln coating is 13 to 18 meters. The length of minor kiln coating is 18 to 20 meters. Operator must adjust the position of burner in every duty shift in order to produce a repetition process and avoid circle forming.
3. Adjust rotary kiln’s burner according to real situation of raw materials’ particle.
If there are 40-mm particles formed in the rotary kiln and materials are tacky, it show that the temperature of burning zone is too high. Operator should increase certain amount of external wind. On the contrary, increase inner wind and sintering temperature. Operator must pay attention to the situation of lining materials.
4. Adjust rotary kiln’s burner according to the circle formation position;
5. Adjust rotary kiln’s burner by observing real situation in the kiln while shifting of duty.
6. Adjust the total amount of primary air and total pressure in order to guarantee enough thrust.
7. Adjust inner diameter of coal pipe and change out air velocity. These are effective measures to change the thrust of coal pipe.
8. Adjust the proportion of internal wind and external wind. Internal wind is swirling wind which will make flame become shorter and thicker. External wind is axial wind which will make flame become thinner and longer.
